Dear City Dems and friends,

We have to move our reorganization meeting, since the “first Thursday” is technically January 1st. Thus, our reorganization meeting will therefore be January 8th at 7:30 pm at City Hall. Please see below for reorganization instructions - read carefully so you will be prepared.

 

1. REORGANIZATION INFORMATION FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS:

   1. You will need to:

      1. Review the call to reorganization below - this is the same document with only dates changed from our last reorganization. Notice of our reorganization will be posted on our website and on our social media, as required by the call to reorganize.

      2. Complete and return the Declaration of Candidacy for Membership form, attached to this email, according to the instructions on the form. We will have a stack of forms available at our meeting at 7:30 on Thursday January 8th, but if you’d like to do it early, you can complete it and return it to me via the methods described on the form itself.

      3. Bring a check for your dues ($50 for returning, $25 for new) or pay on ActBlue prior to the meeting itself. The link for ActBlue is here.

2. INFORMATION FOR OFFICER CANDIDATES:

   1. If you intend to run for either Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary or Treasurer, you will need to:

      1. Notify me by Tuesday January 6 at 8 pm that you intend to run - this is just so I can prepare all the names on the ballots. (See attached screenshot of ballot draft)

      2. Make sure you’ve done your Declaration of Candidacy form and paid your dues.

      3. I will allow all candidates to speak for up to 3 minutes, if they so choose, at the start of the caucus to discuss their plans as officers.

3. Our meeting after the reorganization will focus on the following business:

   1. Supporting our HD-11 candidate on January 13th

   2. Kicking off our “Become a Forever Voter” campaign in January-February

   3. CELEBRATING OUR REORGANIZATION AND OUR COMMUNITY!

 

We will have some refreshments and beverages that I’m bringing- I want to make some cupcakes as a big thank-you for all your hard work. You guys are truly a wonderful community and I’m thankful for each and every one of you right now!
